Rocca di Montegrossi, Rosato di Toscana 2020

Owner & winemaker Marco Ricasoli-Firidolfi comes from a family immersed in the history of the Chianti Classico region, with his ancestors laying the foundation and creating the ‘recipe’ for what we know today as Chianti. A relatively new estate, Rocca di Montegrossi was set up in 1994 in Monti just south of Gaiole and has increased its holdings over time to 100ha, with 20 ha under vine and 20 ha dedicated to olive groves. Rosato di Toscana 2020 is made from 100% organically farmed Sangiovese and comes from the first pressing of the grapes, which remain in contact with the skins for 40-50 minutes. The wine has a lovely balance between acid, body and fruit, with crisp notes of red berries, grapefruit, chalk and lime. Nice and versatile, it can either be enjoyed on its own or paired with seafood.
